Day 15: Calen to Airlie Beach

Odo: 14734, Day's KM: 108.2, Trip KM: 3752

Today was only a short ride on the bikes.  To make for a shorter trip into Townsville, we set off just after lunch with destination: Airlie Beach.

As it turned out, we took our time getting to the beach, arriving to a campsite around 4PM (the approximate time for bird feeding).  We decided to leave the other tourists to feed the birds, and instead set up our tents.  Tim's selection of spot looked pretty good until we discovered copious quantities of figs on the ground.  Not that there were any better spots - so we cleared away the figs and got set up.

We had been out of phone reception for some time, so Tim and I took the opportunity to get into contact with people before going for a lazy evening stroll along to the beach.

We wandered around for a little while, and then sat down to have a drink at one of the local watering holes.

After the drink, we headed back to camp via the bottle-o and cooked up some food in the camp kitchen before retiring for the evening.
